MOST RECENT: 2019 Theater for One at the Cork Midsummer Festival: World Premiere pieces by Enda Walsh, Marina Carr, Stacey Gregg, and Mark O’Rowe; Lighting and Sound Design By Joshua Higgason

Review from Irish Times: “…Joshua Higgason’s disarming light and sound”

Theater for One is a custom created performance space for one audience member and one performer to have a unique and intimate performance moment. It was created and directed by theater set designer Christine Jones (Spring Awakening, American Idiot)  and developed by renowned architecture firm LOT-EK.   Inspired by small one-to-one spaces - such as the confessional or the sex peep-booth - Theater for One has interior walls that are lined with red padded velvet and incorporates a peep-booth chair with stereo speakers and pay buttons. The whole unit is designed to travel and transport with ease. For this installation, it was placed in the center of Time Square, creating a space to explore the intense, direct, and intimate one-to-one interaction of performer and audience in one of the busiest places on earth. We created a custom system to provide all of the lighting, audio, monitoring, power, and operations, all exactly as you would expect to find in a real theater, crammed into a completely mobile and completely self-contained system.

Previous Designs by; Jane Cox, Bradley King, Austin Smith
